Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo: Hunter Hayes

Raised in Louisiana, Hunter Hayes embraced his Cajun roots and learned to play the accordion as a toddler. At just 4 years old, Hayes accompanied the legendary Hank Williams Jr. on stage in front of thousands of people to sing and play his newly learned instrument to Williams' father's hit "Jambalaya." The young, talented Hayes quickly became a celebrity in his home state, meeting other stars such as Johnny Cash and Charlie Daniels.

Released in October 2011, his album, "Hunter Hayes," featured the artist singing all lead and background vocals, as well as playing every instrument noted on the tracks, including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, sitar, mandolin and accordion. It is no surprise that at age 18, Hayes signed a publishing deal, and since then, has received several GRAMMY® nominations. Today, at the age of 22, Hayes is one of the most exciting young artists in country music. He recently wrapped up a national tour with country star Carrie Underwood.
